Looking for a way to make a real difference in the life of a child and the future of our community? If so, we can help…

Become a Volunteer!

You can play a powerful role in inspiring a love of learning in children and help find their passion:

Volunteer to be a reading tutor working with a second grader at one of fifty-six public elementary schools across Montgomery County. Tutoring one hour per week can help make a second grader into an amazing reader!

http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/readingnetwork

Volunteer to be a writing mentor for one hour per week at one of our after school Young Writers Academies where elementary and middle school students discover the potential of the written word and unlock their gifts as skillful and passionate writers.

Volunteer to help middle school girls learn about technology—including computers and website design—at one of our after-school GRRL Tech (“Girls Really, Really Love Tech-nology”) programs. If you are a woman working in a technology field, call us to see how you can inspire middle school girls to see a world of future possibilities in technology.

To find out how to volunteer for any of the above programs, contact Cynthia Rubenstein, Executive Director, at:
p4learning@aol.com. Or, you can call Cynthia at 301-562-6014.

  • $500.00 will pay for a workshop leader to provide an interactive language arts night for 45 Young Writers Academy students and their families or a middle school girl to attend two weeks of GRRL Power computer camp at Montgomery College.
